We were lucky enough to spend a magical night here. What we liked best: the gourmet restaurant (one of our best experiences on Let's Go My Love), the young and dynamic team, the à la carte breakfast and the indoor pool in the wellness center.
Beyond the gate, you enter the elegantly landscaped courtyard. The château's interior echoes the spellbinding beauty of the natural landscapes surrounding the estate. There are 4 wings with 24 rooms, some of which overlook the Lesse, a river in Belgium's Ardennes region.
Depending on the room you choose, you'll enjoy the following amenities: king-size bed, bed linen from Verilin, private bathroom with local natural stone, Italian shower, welcome products from Gemology Cosmetics, Nespresso machine with coffee from Désirée, free minibar stocked daily, Smart TV and air conditioning.
The team is very attentive and communication is in French, Dutch or English. Special mention goes to Seppe, the butler, Élodie, the manager, who showed us around the impressive wine cellar in the basement, and Manon, at reception, who is always ready to help make your stay a memorable one.
For your meals, don't miss the gourmet restaurant ARDEN, which welcomes you in a cinematic setting. The music playlist is modern, which we like.
Chef Marius Bosmans offers pure, creative local cuisine, respecting the rhythm of the seasons. His experience translates into a sharp eye for detail and a refined nose for judicious combinations of ingredients. Some of these are sourced from the château's greenhouse and kitchen garden.
We tasted a 6-course menu and loved everything about it. If you don't drink alcohol, you absolutely must try the non-alcoholic accompaniment, most of which comes from Bôtan Distillery in Antwerp. An absolute favorite. Savor the bold, invigorating flavors of Ginzu or the sweet, lemony notes of Wakataya.
The choice of wines, of course, is inspired. At the end of your meal, don't miss the underground wine cellar, with its 16,000 bottles and exceptional vintages, one of the most impressive cellars in Belgium. It's located in the basement. You can smoke cigars here. The first 2 rooms date back to the 13th century. English and American pilots took refuge here during the 2nd World War.
During the day, the wellness center welcomes you in a sleek, stylish setting close to nature. The hammam and swimming pool are located indoors, while the Finnish sauna overlooking the shore is set up outside. An excellent range of treatments and massages. Blue stone walls and floors give the place an authentic Ardennes character!
In the morning, meet in the beautiful dining room for an à la carte breakfast. On the menu: pastries, pancakes, banana pancakes, crêpes, chef's fruit salad, caramelized apple French toast, waffles and honey straight from the château. And for savoury dishes: salmon, ham, cheese, vegetables and eggs from Ferme des Pételles, prepared to your taste.
Le Château de Vignée is located in a beautiful natural setting in the Belgian Ardennes, 20 minutes from Dinant and 1h15 from Brussels. There are many tourist attractions in the area, including Maredsous Abbey and the Han Caves. For the record, the Château Royal de Ciergnon, just 7 minutes away, is one of the favorite summer residences of the Belgian royal family.
