Le Château de Vignée is a majestic boutique hotel located in Rochefort, south of Namur in the Belgian Ardennes. A meeting place for hunters for almost 400 years, this 17th-century sanctuary transports you into a veritable fairytale. Here's our on-the-spot video.

Our experience
We were lucky enough to spend a magical night here. Our favorites: the fine-dining restaurant (one of our best experiences on Let's Go My Love), the young and dynamic staff, the à la carte breakfast, and the indoor pool in the wellness center.
The team is very attentive and communication is in French, Dutch or English. Special mention goes to Seppe, the butler, Élodie, the manager, who showed us around the impressive wine cellar in the basement, and Manon, at reception, who is always ready to help make your stay a memorable one.
Beyond the gate, you enter the elegantly landscaped courtyard. The château's interior echoes the spellbinding beauty of the natural landscapes surrounding the estate. There are 4 wings with 24 rooms, some of which overlook the Lesse, a river in Belgium's Ardennes region.
Rooms and Suites
The hotel features just 24 rooms and suites, decorated in a contemporary style with warm wooden accents. Here are our favorites:
1 • Comfort Room • Photo
2 • Comfort Lesse Room • Photo
3 • Superior Room • Photo
4 • Junior Suite • Photo
Depending on the room you choose, you'll enjoy the following amenities: king-size bed, bed linen from Verilin, private bathroom with local natural stone, Italian shower, welcome products from Gemology Cosmetics, Nespresso machine with coffee from Désirée, free minibar stocked daily, Smart TV and air conditioning.
The gourmet restaurant
For your meals, don't miss the gourmet restaurant ARDEN, which welcomes you in a cinematic setting. The music playlist is modern, which we like.
Chef Marius offers creative, authentic regional cuisine that follows the rhythm of the seasons. His experience is reflected in his keen eye for detail and his refined palate for thoughtful combinations of ingredients. Some of these ingredients come from the château’s greenhouse and vegetable garden.
We tasted a 6-course menu and loved everything about it. If you don't drink alcohol, you absolutely must try the non-alcoholic accompaniment, most of which comes from Bôtan Distillery in Antwerp. An absolute favorite. Savor the bold, invigorating flavors of Ginzu or the sweet, lemony notes of Wakataya.
The choice of wines, of course, is inspired. At the end of your meal, don't miss the underground wine cellar, with its 16,000 bottles and exceptional vintages, one of the most impressive cellars in Belgium. It's located in the basement. You can smoke cigars here. The first 2 rooms date back to the 13th century. English and American pilots took refuge here during the 2nd World War.
Breakfast à la carte
In the morning, head to the beautiful dining room to enjoy an à la carte breakfast.
On the menu: pastries, pancakes, banana pancakes, crêpes, the chef’s fruit salad, French toast with caramelized apples, waffles, and honey straight from the château. And for savory options: salmon, ham, cheese, vegetables, and eggs from Ferme des Pételles, prepared to your liking.
The spa surrounded by nature
The wellness center is a true sanctuary surrounded by nature. The design is sleek, modern, and soothing. The walls and floors are clad in blue stone, giving the space an authentic Ardennes feel.
We love the large floor-to-ceiling windows that make us feel like we're surrounded by nature, even while we're cozying up in the indoor pool or the steam room. The Finnish sauna, meanwhile, is located outdoors with a view of the shore.
A menu of treatments and massages is also available if you’d like to extend this moment of relaxation.
