On site, you'll discover 2 buildings: the Castel and the Palladio. In the Castel, each room has its own style, while in the Palladio they are more modern. The interior design was imagined by Véronique Mellery, head film decorator. She has notably worked on "Mourir peut attendre" (a James Bond film) and "Marie-Antoinette" directed by Sofia Coppola.

The tents are set away from the main buildings (and close to fruit trees), with queen-size beds, dry toilets and solar-powered showers. They combine the comfort of a hotel suite with the unusual experience of living in the wilderness.

If the weather is fine, you can pick up your breakfast basket at the hotel restaurant and enjoy it on the terrace of your tent.

The park is breathtakingly peaceful, right on the water. We love the large terrace where you can enjoy a drink at sunset. Take the time to stroll among the hundred-year-old trees or near the kitchen garden, where the chef often harvests herbs and vegetables.

For your meals, head to the "En face de l'Île" restaurant, which offers locavore cuisine in close collaboration with local producers. Mikaël Lehaire conceives his dishes as a story told from the earth to the plate. Special mention to Diego, the waiter, for his warm welcome, good humor and explanations of each dish. Lovely setting and pleasant waterside terrace.

Good to know: Les Sorbiers is the first hotel in Wallonia to be awarded the European eco-label. Every decision has been taken with nature in mind. Here are just a few examples: oil-fired boilers have been phased out in favor of biomass heating, there's no single-use plastic and no big-brand soda, just local, seasonal produce.

The hotel is located in Heer, on the banks of the Haute-Meuse, opposite the island of Androssart, just between Belgium and France. The location is fairly isolated, and a car is ideal for getting around. If you prefer to take the train to the nearest station, the hotel can send someone to pick you up. There's plenty to do: kayaking, cycling along the Meuse or hiking, for example.
